We are asking for your help in raising money to help our beloved friends, Denise and Brian Manny. Being their friends and family we’ve grown up with Denise and Brian, shared many laughs with them, supported their happiness in new-found love, and celebrated their commitment to each other in 2008. Last September, we were all hit hard when we received the news that Denise was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. Both Denise and Brian shared a positive outlook on the situation and were committed to beating down the disease. After a year of treatment and through many ups and downs, Denise recently learned the cancer had metastacized to her bones and liver. She is currently undergoing a second round of chemotherapy for treatment.

As a result of this news, Denise and Brian moved back to Hilo, Hawaii so that they can be close to Denise’s family and closer to the natural beauty that Denise calls home. Having incurred unplanned and expensive medical and non-medical costs, Denise and Brian could use help and support from friends and the community that they live in today to start rebuilding their lives in Hilo.

Our mission is to provide the financial support needed so that Brian can be by Denise’s side during her treatment, and so that their move back to Hawaii can be easy and stress-free. We want to help them with their outstanding debt to Kaiser for when Denise was first diagnosed; help with their monthly insurance payments; subsidize what they are spending on vitamins/supplements to combat the side-effects of chemo, wellness treatments such as acupuncture, therapeutic massage, and cancer wellness programs; assist with money spent on travel to specialists; and help fund their move to Hawaii – all in, we are hoping to help them pay off the $80,000 or so in debt they have found themselves in. We are asking for your generosity both in giving and also support. Let's help make it possible for them being together, side by side during this second battle with cancer so that Denise can focus on getting better!
